What is CEREC?

CEREC is a state-of-art technology, originating in Germany, that allows the dentist to deliver the right treatments for you, efficiently and to great cosmetic effect. CEREC restorations include inlays, onlays and veneers. All CEREC restorations are durable, lasting as long as your natural teeth.

CEREC uses CADCAM computer design to construct crowns, inlays and veneers in one visit without the need for any messy impressions. All creek restorations are made of ceramic material that is the same colour and hardness as natural teeth. It is very durable and with proper care can last a lifetime.

What could be done about the gaps in my teeth?

Gaps, or missing teeth, can be efficiently closed with veneers or crowning. A missing tooth can be replaced by implants or fixed bridgework or partial dentures. Smaller gaps between teeth can be filled by using porcelain veneers or composite bonding and sometimes by using crowns.

How much does it cost?

The dental cost to each client varies depending on the treatments required. Whilst we offer treatments at a realistic cost, our first concern is to offer first class and lasting work. You will be able to get an accurate estimate of the cost of the treatments you need, during your first consultation with us.

Alan Miller Dental Practice is a preferred provider for HBF, BUPA and Medibank Private so you could receive the maximum rebates on treatment if you have health cover with one of these providers. We are also registered with all other health funds and are Veteran Affairs Dentists.

What can be done with my gums?

It should be remembered that healthy gums always look better than unhealthy gums. To achieve excellent gums oral hygiene is essential, and can be achieved through regular professional cleaning. Sometimes a smile might suffer from an unfortunate lip line showing excessive amount of gum, resulting in an unattractive smile. This can be corrected through gum surgery prior to other work on the teeth, to enhance the overall cosmetic effect.

What are the risks of these treatments?

All treatments carry a small risk. We at Alan Miller Dental Practice will make you fully aware of the risks involved in the treatments you are considering, either when you have the initial consultation, in person; or before you even arrive, by email and/or phone.

In the vast majority of cases, this means you will only need one session for the diagnosis and treatment. That's the whole treatment in one day! In some circumstances you might need 2-3 sessions-but even then, this can be fitted over no more than 2-3 days.

What can be done to change my discoloured teeth?

Teeth discolouring can be caused by a range of reasons: old composite or amalgam fillings, tooth decay, loss of vitality due to root canal treatments, staining due to smoking, food and drink and/or some medications (such as tetracycline).
